Necrosis of subcutaneous fat appearing at birth or in early infancy as sharply demarcated indurated plaques, usually affecting the cheeks, buttocks, shoulders, and calves. Also called adiponecrosis neonatorum, subcutaneous fat necrosis of newborn.
