streptococcus erythrogenic toxin medical definition

A culture filtrate of the endotoxin that is produced by strains of beta-hemolytic streptococci and that produces an erythematous reaction at inoculation sites on the skin of susceptible persons. Also called Dick test toxin, erythrogenic toxin.
