Whipple's disease medical definition

A rare disease in which the intestinal wall is invaded by macrophages containing the remnants of bacteria and which is characterized by steatorrhea, generalized lymphadenopathy, arthritis, fever, and cough. Also called intestinal lipodystrophy.
